The BTA Tech Expo is the premier student-run Technology Exposition held at UC Berkeley. The Expo will be held on November 6th, 2009 at The Pauley Ballroom from 11:00AM to 5:00PM. The Event is a chance for students to discover the latest technologies, as companies unveil and showcase their newest innovations. Representing diverse industries and products ranging from databases to video-games, the Tech Expo aims to provide an accurate cross-section of the computing industry.
With an expected turnout of over 500 students, the Tech Expo provides companies with a great opportunity for exposure to potential consumers and enthusiastic students looking to try out something new.
Firms will have the opportunity to recruit students searching for full-time and internship positions. Students will be given notice of being able to provide their resumes in advance to be given to attending firms for perusal.
BTA prides itself on providing it's members the best of both worlds. This translates into an opportunity for firms seeking more exposure and access to a vast number of students interested in the two fields. The Tech Expo is one of many events we hold on campus and can help firms looking to connect with students by organizing related events.
Use the Tech Expo as an opportunity to display your company's technologies, offer promotions, present videos or conduct surveys. The Tech Expo focuses on featuring new consumer products for the university level target audience, so consider providing appropriate promotional materials.
Registration fees will cover the cost of a 10' by 10' floor space, two tables, electricity and lunch for one representative. The registration fee is $200 for regular registration. The payment deadline is October 30th, 2009 for regular registration. The registration fee and any additional fees due to extra accommodations are listed below:
Each company is entitled to a 10' by 10' space on the floor. Additional space will be available at the rate of $1.00/sq ft. Each company is limited to a maximum space of 20' by 20'.
With your registration, you may purchase parking spaces for your company at a rate of $25 each. Parking spaces are limited and are available on a first come, first serve basis. There is a limit of two parking spaces per company.
Each company has an option of contributing a sample of their product(s) to our raffle. Your product(s) will be raffled to students who attend the event. Participating in this raffle will allow products, especially ones that specifically target college students, to gain more visibility and will increase your company's exposure. Raffled products will receive extra publicity.
No refunds can be provided once payment for the Tech Expo has been made.
Please note that exhibitors will not be able to directly sell products to students during the Technology Expo due to UC Berkeley's strict policy concerning commercial activity on campus. However, exhibitors are free to give out coupons and collect names of students who request more information.
